A Gentle Rhythm to Each Day:

  • 06:30 Sunrise meditation

  • 07:00 Morning yoga (with fresh juice & fruit)

  • 10:00 Delicious brunch​

  • NOON Spacious time to rest, wander the gardens, read beneath the trees, explore, or simply follow your curiosity.

  • 15:00 Afternoon nourishment

  • 16:30 Restorative yoga or group Reiki healing ​

  • 19:00 3-course farm-to-table dinner​

  • 20:00 Evenings under the stars by the fire, or evening activity (Full Moon Ceremony, African music experience) or free time

Each day is designed to balance movement and stillness, community and solitude. You’ll be guided through practices that support rest and reconnection, with plenty of space to simply be.

While no two days are exactly the same, here’s a sample schedule to give you a feel for your retreat experience:

About Kilima Gardens

A family run eco-luxury retreat haven nestled within native leleshwa bush, and resting beneath Mount Kenya’s snow-dusted peaks. Every sunrise, birdsong, evening fire and star-filled sky becomes part of the retreat itself.

Rooms feature queen or king-sized beds, ensuite bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets, organic toiletries, and drinkable filtered tap water. Some rooms offer garden views, others Mount Kenya views - and some even include outdoor showers beneath wide African skies.

Each space is thoughtfully designed with handcrafted Kenyan details and positioned to help you feel held by the land.

Beyond your room, you’ll find an infinity pool, a Nordic wood-fired sauna and cold plunge, a treehouse deck with hammock, lush gardens, and evenings by the fire under vast African stars. During our week together, we have exclusive use of the property.

About Your Host Alice

Alice is a Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner (Usui Level 2),and UK NHS Doctor with a passion for holistic health and wellbeing in nature.

Based in the UK, Alice offers Yoga & Reiki in the Woods – unique, nurturing outdoor experiences designed to help participants reconnect with nature while restoring balance to their body and mind.

She spent her childhood in Africa, and loves returning to her soul roots.

Participants describe her ability to hold space as “phenomenal” - blending warmth, professionalism and thoughtful hosting in a way that allows you to completely relax.

You will be supported - but never overwhelmed.

Food on Retreat

Mealtimes are a soul-nourishing part of your retreat experience, and meals on retreat are designed to nourish, satisfy, and support your practice - with fresh, locally sourced vegetarian and vegan dishes that celebrate Kenyan produce.

Expect colourful, grounding meals that leave you feeling well-fed but light, made with care by Kilima Gardens’ in-house chefs.

Participants often remark how deeply nourished they feel – from sunrise juice and fresh fruit, to abundant brunches, to 3-course dinners enjoyed by candlelight.

All dietary needs and allergies can be accommodated.

Tea, coffee, soda and filtered water are included and available throughout the day.

Rather than simply visiting, you'll be invited to engage with this remarkable country with curiosity, openness and respect. From vibrant local markets to stories woven into the landscape, these experiences are designed to deepen your connection with the place and the people who call it home.

During the retreat you’ll enjoy:

  • A visit to vibrant Nanyuki town, where you'll explore colourful markets, discover local cafés and even stand astride the Equator.

  • A guided walk through indigenous forest to the historic Mau Mau Caves, with the opportunity to take a refreshing wild swim beneath the trees.
